PSYCHIATRIST at Forrest General Hospital – Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Performs and/or oversees admission and concurrent review of all federally funded and other focused patient groups. Ensures that quality assurance monitoring and evaluation systems are implemented and ongoing throughout the hospital and are in compliance with regulatory standards. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

Education/Skills :::
Graduate of a medical school approved by American Medical Association required.

Work Experience:
Experrience in psychiatry required. Required to have no pending malpractice suits.

Certification/Licensure:
Current license to practice medicine in the State of Mississippi required. Member of the Forrest General Hospital's active medical staff with privileges to practice required. Board certification in psychiatry required. Must have malpractice insurance for patient care activities.
