Summary
This position is responsible for executing sales strategy and initiating face to face contact with existing and potential customers in a specified territory for the sale of Carotek mechanical products and services, including pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, steam, and filtration product portfolios.
Candidates must reside in the territory that they will cover, which is Central to Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina. Greenville is the ideal location for this position but other places of residence within the territory will be considered.
Acting as a consultative business partner, problem solver, trusted advisor and technical expert in the application of our product the person in this position will assist customers in the application of the products and services to meet their needs resulting in revenue generation.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Calls on end-users such as engineers, technicians and supervisory personnel in Industrial, Commercial and/or Municipal accounts providing process solutions and application advice on our products
Calls on architectural and engineering firms who service our end-user customer base conducting informational training sessions on our products and their application
Establishes effective relationships with customers to gain their trust and confidence in applying our products
Grows territory by increasing penetration of existing accounts and developing new accounts
Reviews specifications, application requirements and other documents and works closely with Inside Sales for preparation of resulting quotations
Advises Inside Sales personnel as to margins to utilize for particular accounts or projects
Develops and delivers sales presentations and closes sales in a professional and effective manner
Provides technical support for customers in the proper use, operation and maintenance of our equipment
Participates in local job-related professional organizations such as ISA, WEF, ASHRAE and ASPE
Monitors, analyzes and communicates monthly sales data to contribute to product and service planning
Participates in sales forecasting and planning for the assigned territory
Maintains CRM database
Maintains strong principal relationships
Attends factory training sessions and trade shows for products represented
products and other general information of interest to customers
Communicates with co-workers, management, customers and others in a professional and courteous manner

Work Environment
The employee's office will be from their own home but they will be traveling to customer locations three to four days a week.
While performing the duties of this job at a customers site, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat. The noise level in these work environments may be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl at the customer's site. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and there is some flexibility in the hours allowed but individuals in this position typically work 40 hours a week Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is up to 75% of the time and primarily local during the business day, although occasional travel is expected which may require overnight stays and weekends. Ability to transport self to various facility sites as required. Must possess a valid state drivers license and acceptable driving record.
Minimum Education/Experience
Associates degree in a technical field or business concentration; Four plus years experience in a combination of Outside or Inside Sales, preferably in a related industry and with a proven track record of success; Inside Sales and/or Field Service work a plus.
A bachelor's degree is preferred.
Sales experience in a technical field preferred.
Working knowledge of Word, Excel and CRM.
