About This Position
Job Overview:
The Manager of Analytics will manage the processes and people responsible for accurate data collection, processing, modeling and analysis. They will work closely with leaders across the Revenue Cycle to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions. They will ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for analytics employees to follow. The Manager of Analytics will wrangle large and complex data sets, and build machine learning models to aid Revenue Cycle & Finance initiatives across operations & strategy. The Manager of Analytics will conduct appropriate analyses and present results in an innovative format and informative visualizations for a broad audience. The Manager of Analytics employs investigative design, performs data collection and statistical analyses of data, interprets results, verifies data accuracy, and prepares final reports using a variety of software and tools.- Responsible for managing the Revenue Cycle Analytics team
- Engage with all levels of management and Revenue Cycle leaders to identify reporting and analytical needs
- Automate and improve existing recurring reports using technologies available
- Query and analyze system data to spot and report on trends
- Identify areas of improvement in current workflows and work with Revenue Cycle leaders to implement
- Create reporting at detailed levels as well as summaries for executive level
- Maintain quality standards between various reporting
- Train team members both existing and new on current technologies and processes
- Delegate work to team members based on skills/expertise
- Assess teams’ current skill sets and provide coaching and self-learning recommendations
- Reviews teams visual dashboards and reports prior to presentation to end user
Qualifications:
Required:
- At least 5 years of experience in a position monitoring, managing, manipulating and drawing insights from data
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading a team
- Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries
- Experience with data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions.
- Experience using analytics techniques to contribute to company growth efforts, increasing revenue and other key business outcomes.
- Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities.
- Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills.
- Extensive experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Operations (Claim Preparation / Submission / Management / Posting / Collection / etc.)
- Ability to investigate, organize, and merge data from different sources into a single data structure.
Preferred:
- Experience using automation tools like iMacro & AutoHotKey is a plus
- VBA, VB, or other programming languages is a plus
- Ability to perform complex analyses for strategic and research projects, such as study design/sample size estimations and analysis of study results
- Epic Hyperspace experience is a plus
Certifications and Licenses:
- Current Epic Clarity certification or willingness to take extensive Epic training coursed to become certified
Essential Functions:
- Distill complex data into actionable insights that empower others to drive operational strategic initiatives.
- Design, build, and extract large and complex data sets, including both structured and unstructured data, while thinking strategically about uses of data and how data use interacts with data design.
- Build, test, and implement machine learning models to aid performance improvement and strategic initiatives by investigating appropriate methods and algorithms.
- Deliver intelligence and insights to stakeholders within a specified timeframe by applying and demonstrating expertise in the areas of advanced analytics, machine learning, forecasting, data wrangling, and predictive modeling.
- Evaluate data quality and provide support to data governance activities.
