The Department of Biology at Clark University invites applications for a part-time Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor to teach Animal Behavior in the Fall 2026 beginning in August 2026. This course is an upper-level undergraduate/graduate course focusing on key concepts, theories, and models in the field of behavioral ecology.
The course explores proximate questions, including genetic, hormonal, and environmental influences on the development and expression of behavior, as well as ultimate questions, including how behaviors have been shaped by ecology and evolutionary history.
The course has used a mixed format, with both lectures and discussion of primary literature. The course is currently scheduled to meet on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1:25-2:40 pm.
A Ph.D. in Biology or related fields is preferred, but advanced PhD candidates are encouraged to apply.
Candidates must demonstrate evidence of potential for teaching excellence in biology. Review of applications will begin July 8, 2026, and continue until the position is filled.
Job Requirements:
Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. degree in Biology or related fields. Those with experience in research or working in the field are encouraged to apply.
Additional Information:
Expected Hiring Range: $5000 to $6000

The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials.
