Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead owner-side construction oversight across active work areas.
  • Coordinate EPC contractors, construction managers, trade contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers.
  • Monitor field progress against the integrated schedule and construction sequence.
  • Verify construction against drawings, specifications, contracts, quality requirements, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, process, mechanical, piping, HVAC, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and utility scopes.
  • Identify scope gaps, work-front conflicts, access constraints, and sequencing issues.
  • Review look-ahead schedules, manpower, productivity, material availability, work packages, and field constraints.
  • Support constructability, modularization, prefabrication, work packaging, and site logistics.
  • Track RFIs, submittals, field changes, nonconformance reports, and corrective actions.
  • Verify contractor-reported progress.
  • Monitor inspections, testing, quality records, and turnover documentation.
  • Track mechanical completion, punch lists, system completion, turnover, and pre-commissioning readiness.
  • Coordinate turnover with CQV, Technical, Quality, Automation, and Operations.
  • Review contractor recovery plans and corrective actions.
  • Support tie-ins, energization, equipment setting, utility startup, and other critical field activities.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Large-scale pharmaceutical and industrial construction.
  • Process buildings, central utilities, cleanrooms, laboratories, warehouses, tank farms, and infrastructure.
  • Construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, equipment layouts, schedules, and work packages.
  • Coordination of multidisciplinary scopes and multiple prime contractors.
  • Mechanical completion, turnover, commissioning, qualification, and startup.
  • Construction quality management, nonconformance tracking, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
  • Pharmaceutical GMP construction and documentation requirements.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of construction-management or field-oversight experience.
  • 5+ years in a Construction Manager, Construction Director, or Area Manager role.
  • Greenfield pharmaceutical, biotechnology, API, biologics, or chemical manufacturing experience.
  • Multi-building and multi-EPC program experience preferred.
  • CCM or PMP preferred.

The salary range for this full-time role is $115,700.00-$161,966.69 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
