Supplier Quality Engineer

Reports To: Quality Manager

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Direct Hire - Full Time

Function & Responsibility

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing supplier quality, conducting supplier audits, driving supplier improvement, and ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and sustainability requirements. This role partners with suppliers and internal teams to improve quality, reduce risk, and support global compliance initiatives.

· Qualify, evaluate, and develop suppliers.

· Conduct domestic and international supplier audits (ISO 9001, process, and capability audits).

· Lead Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), root cause investigations, and 8D reviews.

· Monitor supplier KPIs including OTD, PPM, DPPM, audit scores, and corrective action closure.

· Support new supplier qualifications, supplier transfers, and risk assessments.

· Manage environmental and regulatory compliance including Scope 1, 2 & 3 GHG reporting, CMRT, EMRT,

· Conflict Minerals, REACH, RoHS, PFAS, TSCA, and customer compliance requests.

· Maintain an Approved Supplier List (ASL), audit records, and supplier compliance documentation.

· Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality to drive continuous

Improvement.

· Apply total quality management tools (TQM) and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department.

· Works with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts for company use

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Travel

25–50% domestic travel with occasional international travel.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Quality
  • Experience auditing suppliers; strong knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Root cause analysis
  • Lean/Six Sigma principles, and supplier quality systems.
  • Experience with sustainability reporting and responsibility. Sourcing is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data manipulation for large vendor statements).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Proficiency in PC computer skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Certifications

· ASQ, CQE, CSQP, CQA, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
