About the Role:
The Associate Legal Project Manager, Advertising and Privacy Compliance, supports the DOCS, Legal, and Privacy teams in navigating legal and privacy requirements related to digital advertising. This role serves as a key liaison between Legal and business stakeholders, helping to translate regulatory and compliance needs into clear, actionable processes.
This individual will drive internal legal, privacy, and compliance initiatives by coordinating cross-functional efforts and ensuring projects continue to move forward effectively. Responsibilities include serving as the central vendor owner for DOCS, facilitating statements of work and contract processes, organizing and tracking project deliverables, streamlining workflows across contract types such as digital and events, and identifying opportunities to establish, improve, and scale operational processes where needed.

- 3+ years of experience in digital advertising, with a strong interest in law and privacy, and comfort reading and interpreting legal language from a business point of view
- Understanding of key corporate legal workstreams, including contract management, negotiation, compliance, privacy, and corporate governance, ideally within a global organization
- Knowledge of the digital media and ad tech ecosystem, including contextual and data-driven advertising, programmatic transactions, and advertising-supported custom content
- Working knowledge of relevant privacy laws in the U.S., EU, and other key global markets
- Appreciation for strong alignment across business, data governance, and legal and privacy teams
- Highly organized, proactive, and resourceful, with the ability to navigate multiple teams, stakeholders, and processes
- Collaborative approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Process-improvement mindset with a focus on operational efficiency and results
- Strong customer-service orientation toward internal business stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, build strong relationships, drive change, and facilitate problem-solving discussions
- Direct experience in digital advertising, with a solid understanding of data flows and media operations
Responsibilities include:
- Provide privacy guidance to advertising stakeholders, clients, and third-party vendors to support compliance with relevant privacy laws, Dow Jones policies, and ad tech governance requirements
- Partner with DOCS leadership during vendor negotiations to ensure data flows are clearly documented and understood for legal review and contract negotiations
- Manage project coordination across vendor and data onboarding activities, guiding digital partners to support privacy compliance
- Serve as the privacy subject matter expert in the development of training materials and documentation to support process adherence
- Manage process coordination and stakeholder communications across legal, privacy, and compliance workstreams
- Work closely with the Legal Department to streamline processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
- Prepare and organize documents, support contract review and negotiation, and draft correspondence as needed
- Serve as a liaison between DOCS and Legal
- Manage logistics such as scheduling meetings, updating timelines, communicating deliverables, distributing materials, following up on action items, and preparing presentations
- Use collaborative tools to improve transparency and project visibility across legal workstreams
