Electrical Equipment Project Manager
Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Full-Time Direct Hire
Starting Salary: $120,000/year (Higher compensation available based on experience)
Seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee custom electrical equipment projects from initial requirements through engineering, manufacturing, testing, shipment, and final closeout. This role coordinates customers and internal teams to keep engineered-to-order projects on schedule, within requirements, and moving efficiently through production.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project execution from requirements capture through engineering, procurement, production, testing, shipment, and closeout.
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project.
- Coordinate activities across Sales, Application Engineering, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and Logistics.
- Build and maintain project schedules, milestones, and delivery timelines.
- Align schedules with material availability, production capacity, and long-lead items.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and track open actions through completion.
- Manage customer requests, engineering changes, and related schedule impacts.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), documentation packages, customer witness testing, and shipment readiness.
- Identify project risks and drive timely corrective actions.
- Maintain project status reports, schedule updates, and on-time delivery metrics.
- Manage multiple complex projects while maintaining strong customer communication and internal coordination.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, electrical equipment, or an electromechanical environment.
- Experience managing engineered-to-order or custom manufacturing projects.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, order management, and long-lead material coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Experience working with engineering, supply chain, production, and quality teams.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
- Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously.
- Experience with electrical power distribution equipment, including switchgear, PDCs, RPPs, STS, or UPS systems.
- PMP certification or active pursuit of certification.
- Knowledge of UL, NEC, ANSI, or related electrical industry standards.
- Experience coordinating FATs and customer witness testing.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
