Key Responsibilities
Senior Project Leadership
- Own end-to-end delivery of Destructable's largest and most complex wind and solar decommissioning and recycling projects, including multi-site and multi-phase programs
- Develop comprehensive project plans encompassing scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies
- Conduct pre-project site evaluations, feasibility assessments, and pre-mobilization planning to anticipate challenges before they arise
- Serve as the escalation point for project issues across the PM team, providing decisive leadership and problem resolution
- Lead post-project reviews, document lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes
Program Oversight & PM Mentorship
- Provide leadership, guidance, and day-to-day mentorship to Project Managers, supporting their professional development and project performance
- Review and approve project plans, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments prepared by Project Managers
- Standardize project management processes, templates, and tools across the organization to drive consistency and efficiency
- Monitor the health of all active projects across the PM team, identifying risks early and intervening as needed
- Partner with the Chief of Staff and CEO on workforce planning, project staffing, and organizational capacity
Logistics & Operations
- Oversee logistics strategy for large-scale projects including equipment procurement, material transport, crew deployment, and vendor coordination
- Manage transportation and disposal processes for recycled wind turbine blades, solar components, and other materials in compliance with environmental regulations
- Coordinate with the Project Coordinator and field leadership on site sequencing, mobilization planning, and resource scheduling across concurrent projects
- Identify and implement operational efficiencies that reduce cost, improve timelines, and enhance project outcomes
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the senior client relationship owner for key accounts, maintaining strong partnerships and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction
- Lead client kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and project closeout presentations for major projects
- Proactively communicate project status, scope changes, and risk updates to clients with clarity and professionalism
- Identify and pursue opportunities for expanded scope, repeat business, and long-term client relationships
- Represent Destructable in client, subcontractor, and regulatory stakeholder meetings as needed
Budget & Financial Oversight
- Prepare, manage, and report on project budgets for a portfolio of concurrent projects, ensuring cost-effective use of resources at scale
- Track project costs, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to protect project margins
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices, change orders, and project expenditures
- Provide financial performance reporting and forecasting to executive leadership on a regular basis
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and value engineering without compromising safety or quality
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a zero-incident safety culture across all projects — set the standard and hold the entire project team accountable
- Ensure all projects comply with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and Destructable's safety policies from mobilization through closeout
- Review and approve site-specific safety plans, emergency action plans, and job hazard analyses for major projects
- Collaborate with the Safety Specialist to address systemic safety trends and implement preventive measures across the project portfolio
- Ensure all required permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals are secured prior to project commencement
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation across the portfolio including contracts, permits, schedules, budgets, and compliance records
- Prepare detailed executive-level reports summarizing portfolio performance, project outcomes, financial results, and lessons learned
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership for process optimization, growth planning, and operational improvement
- Ensure all Project Managers maintain documentation standards consistent with company requirements
Required
- 8+ years of project management experience with at least 3 years managing large-scale, multi-site projects in demolition, recycling, renewable energy, or heavy civil industries
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a team of project managers or field leaders
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million dollar project budgets
- Deep understanding of demolition and recycling processes including handling of composite and metallic materials
- Proficiency in project management tools including Microsoft 365, Wrike, or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA safety standards and environmental compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills
- Willingness to travel to project sites and client locations as needed
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
- PMP certification (Project Management Professional) — strongly preferred
- Experience in wind or solar decommissioning, industrial recycling, or utility-scale renewable energy projects
- Familiarity with Davis-Bacon / prevailing wage compliance on federally funded projects
- OSHA 30 certification
