Job Description

This role is responsible for overseeing daily retail fulfillment operations, ensuring efficient labor coordination, accurate order processing, and timely shipments in compliance with vendor and contractual requirements. The position works closely with multiple internal and external teams to align goals, meet partner expectations, and maintain smooth workflow execution.

The role includes evaluating shipment schedules, forecasting staffing needs, and assigning labor to meet operational demands. It ensures that equipment, resources, and inventory areas are properly maintained and ready for use. A key component of the job is supervising and developing team members through effective communication, training, and performance support.

Additionally, the role is responsible for enforcing safety procedures, conducting regular audits, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. This position plays an active part in reviewing and updating SOPs to promote consistency and continuous improvement throughout the operation.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports labor coordination with Retail Operations Manager and other business units when the retail team has capacity.
  • Set the proper example and positive tone for the operation and make sure that all is performed at optimal effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Works with Retail B2B Lead to ensure all orders are processed in a timely manner and that shipments are physically and logically built in a manner that is fully compliant with all vendor shipping guidelines and /or contractual requirements.
  • Consult and interface with internal and external teams to ensure commitments made to shipping partners are appropriate, goals are coordinated, and partner expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Review and analyze the workflow of scheduled shipments, remove obstacles to ensure commitments are kept, issues are addressed, operational goals are met, and continuous improvements are made to the processes and operations.
  • Review the daily retail fulfillment orders and forecasts ahead of the time needed, determine staffing needs, ensure employees are scheduled to meet the demand of inbound/outbound volume and make staffing assignments.
  • Ensure all equipment and resources are clean, in proper working order and ready to meet the schedule’s demands.
  • Supervise the team’s performance and build an effective team by helping, supporting, communicating, and providing support and direction to the team’s efforts.
  • Review SOP’s to ensure consistency in the operation’s work and activities.
  • Communicate and work with all applicable departments to ensure an efficient and accurate flow of inventory into and out of fulfillment so the needed physical inventory is maintained
  • Responsible for assisting in hiring, training, and developing all new and existing employees
  • Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety and security procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety audits and address potential hazards promptly.
  • Ensuring inventory and storage areas are clean and maintained

Job Requirements

  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Solid leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping and transportation industry, and product offerings from the United States Postal Service, United Parcel Service, Federal Express, and other sources.
  • Takes the leadership role in driving initiatives, working across organizations, and structuring approaches to new opportunities.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge to produce Excel reports and PC-based skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to articulate and provide insight to employees in a matter that creates an understanding and alignment to the business focus/strategy.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical requirements may include: standing for long periods of time, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
