THIS IS A TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Position Summary
We are seeking qualified and community-focused Resource Coordinators to support disaster recovery operations in impacted counties throughout West Virginia. This position plays a critical role in connecting disaster survivors with available resources, services, and recovery support to address disaster-caused unmet needs.
The Resource Coordinator is responsible for identifying, coordinating, and maintaining recovery resources available to disaster survivors. This role works closely with Disaster Case Managers (DCMs), Long-Term Recovery Groups (LTRGs), voluntary organizations, nonprofits, and community partners to ensure survivors are connected to appropriate services and assistance.
This position will also support survivors with Access and Functional Needs (AFN), including individuals with mobility challenges, disabilities, medical needs, transportation barriers, and other specialized needs. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in or near the impacted counties, Wayne, Mingo, McDowell, Mercer, Wyoming, Raleigh, and Logan, as local knowledge and community relationships are highly valued.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Identify, coordinate, and maintain a database of disaster recovery resources and community services.
- Support Disaster Case Managers with referrals and resource linkage for survivors with unmet disaster-related needs.
- Coordinate with Long-Term Recovery Groups (LTRGs), voluntary agencies, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and government partners.
- Assist with identifying resources for housing, repairs, accessibility needs, transportation, medical support, food assistance, and other recovery services.
- Support survivors with Access and Functional Needs (AFN) by helping navigate available programs and services.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with community organizations and recovery partners.
- Assist in coordinating volunteers, donations, and specialized recovery resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to referrals and resource coordination activities.
- Participate in meetings, outreach efforts, and recovery coordination activities as needed.
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed
- Complete required training including safety training
Skills and Desired Competencies:
- Knowledge of FEMA Disaster Case Management frameworks and disaster recovery operations.
- Knowledge of 2 C.F.R. 200, 44 C.F.R., and the Stafford Act.
- Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with community organizations and stakeholders.
- Ability to work professionally and compassionately with disaster survivors from diverse backgrounds.
- Prior experience supporting disaster recovery programs or emergency management operations.
- Familiarity with local community resources and service providers.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations or individuals with access and functional needs.
Required Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Business Administration or related field required
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience coordinating resources, volunteers, donations, Long-Term Recovery Groups (LTRGs), or disaster recovery support services
- Knowledge of FEMA Disaster Case Management frameworks and disaster recovery operations.
- Knowledge of 2 C.F.R. 200, 44 C.F.R., and the Stafford Act.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
