Job Summary: The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe manufacturing environment. This position will require cleaning and sanitizing manufacturing areas, equipment, and tools. The Custodian will also be responsible for adhering to safety procedures, identifying and reporting safety hazards, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs general, routine custodial duties in office and industrial plant.
• Clean and sanitize manufacturing areas, equipment, and tools.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Execute custodial duties such as trash removal and restroom cleaning
• Supplies: Stocking restrooms with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, and ordering new cleaning supplies as needed
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers.
• Operate forklift as needed to empty trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.
• May assist or perform minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
• Follow safety procedures and report safety hazards to management.
• Perform light maintenance and repairs on equipment and tools.
• Ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
• Will be required to perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand verbal instructions.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Proven experience in custodial or related roles
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning practices.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
• Minimum one-year operating forklift.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• Ability to receive forklift certification.
• Attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.

Working Conditions: The Custodian will work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to loud noises, fumes, and chemicals. The position may require working in areas with limited lighting or ventilation. The custodian may be required to work overtime or on weekends as needed.

Schedule:

• Day Shift: TBD
• Monday-Friday
• Limited overtime.
• Some Saturdays, or Weekends as needed.
