Maintenance Supervisor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES QUALIFICATIONS

Overview
Here at the OTI our innovative sampling tools and diagnostics unlock access to accurate, essential information that advances global health and well-being. Our products include molecular sampling kits for the genome and microbiome, and rapid diagnostics for infectious disease.
SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing the daily activities of second-shift Maintenance Technicians at OraSure Technologies Inc. production sites. This includes managing service and repair tasks, as well as scheduling and supervising preventive maintenance for manufacturing and support equipment. Provides direction and leadership to the maintenance team’s activities to ensure the production team meets operational goals.
- Manage the Preventive Maintenance function in support of manufacturing and operations to minimize equipment down time.
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians, to ensure the proper service, repairs, and operation of OraSure manufacturing equipment, processes, and support equipment.
- Administer SAP based Preventive Maintenance scheduling system including issuance, tracking, and closure of work orders. Set up Preventive Maintenance schedules and plans for new equipment.
- Assistance in Developing procedures, and work instructions to be followed by maintenance technicians in compliance with OraSure Technologies, Inc. requirements regarding execution of Preventive Maintenance and equipment repair or service.
- Responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing and support equipment maintenance records are up to date and accurate including but not limited to maintenance logs, PM records, Change Control Requests, certification documents, and audit responses.
- Responsible for the spare parts inventory to ensure minimum equipment downtime.
- Collaborates with R&D, Engineering, and Manufacturing during the development of new products, equipment, or processes to ensure that preventive maintenance and service requirements are considered.
- Assistance in preparing and monitoring preventive maintenance budgets to ensure efficient and effective use of company funds.
- Prepare shift schedules to insure all departments have full maintenance staff support including any over time activities.
- Assists in the hiring, training and supervision of maintenance technicians including completing performance appraisals and development plans.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work minimum 40 hour 5 day work week with occasional weekend and off shift availability.
- Ability to be on call 24/7 if needed to respond to facility emergencies.
- Ability to view video display terminal images for extended periods of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Ability to lift, tug, or pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
- Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associates or Tech School degree in applicable discipline preferred.
- Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in a preventive maintenance role including hands-on PM performance and at least three (3) years of PM management experience.
- PM experience in a regulated industry setting including pharmaceutical, medical device, or biologics environment preferred.
- PM experience with medium to high volume automated manufacturing systems.
- Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or equivalent
- Demonstrated computer skills – MS Word and Excel
- Demonstrated written communication skills in grammatically correct English
- Demonstrated verbal communication skills, including the ability to conduct verbal presentations.
- Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
- Ability to travel by car and/or plane, typically up to 10%. Additional travel may be required based on business need.
