This role sits at the intersection of category strategy, shopper insights, and retailer collaboration, driving profitable growth across key retail partners. You will act as a category expert, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that shape assortment, shelving, and go-to-market strategies. Working closely with retail buyers and internal sales teams, you will influence joint business planning and support data-driven decision-making at scale. The position requires a strong analytical mindset combined with the ability to tell compelling, insight-led stories to senior stakeholders. You will operate in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where cross-functional alignment is essential. This role has a direct impact on category performance, shopper experience, and long-term retail partnerships.

Accountabilities
  • Serve as the category and shopper expert for assigned retail accounts, providing strategic guidance to internal teams and external partners.
  • Leverage syndicated, loyalty, and retailer data to generate insights, identify opportunities, and recommend actions that drive category growth.
  • Develop weekly, monthly, and ad hoc performance reporting to support business decisions and strategic planning.
  • Influence joint business plans, line reviews, assortment strategy, and planogram recommendations using data-driven insights.
  • Monitor marketplace trends, channel shifts, and shopper behavior across omnichannel retail environments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Insights, and Category Development teams to align strategies and execution.
  • Prepare and deliver high-impact presentations for retail buyers and senior stakeholders, including business reviews and deep-dive analyses.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in consumer goods, including at least 5+ years in category management or shopper insights roles.
  • Strong expertise in category management principles, syndicated data tools, and shopper analytics platforms (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, NPD, Numerator, 84.51, Dunnhumby).
  • Proven ability to translate complex datasets into actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Strong experience working with retailer data and influencing line reviews, assortment, and merchandising decisions.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong project management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other business analysis tools.
  • Highly collaborative mindset with strong relationship-building skills across internal and external partners.
