This role operates at the intersection of emergency response, occupational safety, and site security within a remote and high-risk industrial environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel through rapid medical response, mine rescue readiness, and proactive site surveillance. Working in a structured rotation schedule in a challenging field setting, you will play a critical role in responding to emergencies, supporting incident prevention, and maintaining compliance with strict safety protocols. The position combines hands-on emergency medical intervention with operational security duties, requiring adaptability, calm decision-making, and strong situational awareness. You will also contribute to training activities, reporting, and continuous readiness of rescue teams. This is a high-impact role suited for professionals who thrive in dynamic environments where safety, precision, and teamwork are essential.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide onsite emergency medical response, delivering first aid and immediate care during incidents, accidents, and urgent situations.
  • Respond to a wide range of emergency scenarios including medical events, vehicle incidents, rescue operations, and site safety emergencies.
  • Support mine rescue readiness through participation in drills, training exercises, and certification maintenance activities.
  • Oversee site security operations including access control, surveillance monitoring, and enforcement of safety protocols.
  • Respond to alarms, lone worker alerts, and unauthorized access situations, escalating emergencies to appropriate authorities when necessary.
  • Conduct personnel tracking and monitoring for all site entrants and exits, including staff, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
  • Maintain detailed incident logs, reports, and daily operational documentation related to security and emergency response activities.
  • Support training of new employees and rescue team members in safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Assist with general site operations, including communications support, reception duties, and upkeep of the security and response facility.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of medical and incident-related information in accordance with regulations and site policies.
Requirements
  • Certification as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) or Advanced First Aid (AFA) is required.
  • Valid Mine Rescue certification aligned with applicable regional occupational health and safety standards.
  • Experience in emergency response, medical assistance, or rescue operations in industrial, remote, or high-risk environments.
  • Strong ability to remain calm under pressure and make effective decisions in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated experience in site safety, security operations, or related field support roles.
  • Ability to train and mentor new personnel in safety and emergency response procedures.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality requirements in handling medical and incident information.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to operate in remote and physically demanding environments.
  • Physical capability to work in varying weather conditions and perform prolonged standing, sitting, and field response duties.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn and use operational reporting systems.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly compensation aligned with industrial safety and emergency response roles.
  • Rotational work schedule (including fly-in/fly-out options depending on location).
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Paid time off, sick leave, and statutory holiday benefits.
  • Employer-supported insurance and wellness programs.
  • Opportunities for training, certification maintenance, and professional development in emergency response.
  • Exposure to large-scale critical infrastructure and environmental remediation projects.
  • Inclusive and safety-focused work environment with strong team collaboration.
  • Support for physical fitness and well-being through workplace wellness initiatives.
  • Stable employment within a regulated, unionized work environment.
