Summary:

Responsible for the preparing machines to run various set ups, building set ups and/or preparing parts to be fabricated as requested.

Examples of Duties:

• Performs all assigned set up operations.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
• Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results.
• Prepares machinery for new production specification including adjusting machine settings, choosing, retrieving, and attaching correct auxiliary parts such as dies, and/or building needed set ups such as jig fixtures. Includes reading technical, color-coded diagrams and a tape line, use of hands and arms to operate hand tools such as a screwdriver, and mathematical skills to take measurements to properly construct set ups.
• Utilizes a normal level of attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to prepare parts to be fabricated including cutting metal to the appropriate size, drilling holes in metal, welding metal part together, and cutting conduit, etc.
• Utilizes knowledge of refrigeration construction to check quality of parts run off the prepared sup up, or parts individually prepared to ensure quality meets predetermined standards.
• Maintains an inventory of all parts and supplies needed, which involves the use of hands, arms, and feet to lift metal part and tools weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Performs basic maintenance on CNC machinery involving repetitive stooping, forward bending, and crouching to inspect and observe metal and machinery, and audibly detecting problems with machinery.
• Trains employees as necessary, which involves using written and verbal skills as well as personal conversations.
• Reads and processes all required documentation of work completed as well as parts and supplies used, which involves recording written information.
• Performs minor maintenance on machinery, including preventive maintenance. This may involve repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching to retrieve parts and tools, and to inspect operations.
• Responsible for the adherence to all standard operating procedures to promote the safety of all employees including wearing earplugs and safety glasses when required, hearing warning sounds, and recognizing potentially dangerous situations in an indoor plant environment with fans, but no air conditioning, dust from materials, and fumes from oil from machinery.

Minimum Requirements:

• Vocational training in the field of refrigeration
• Two years or more of equivalent experience
• Must have the ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to properly utilize provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including eye protection, hearing protection, half-face and/or Powered Air Purifying Respirators, protective clothing, and fall restraint harnesses.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week and be available for overtime when necessary.
• Available for training in various duties.
• Consistently/Frequently - see (vision), hear, ability to read and write, ability to interpret information, basic math, reading, and writing in English.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.
