Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, Surgery-Colorectal Clinical in Galveston, Texas at University of Texas Medical Branch

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Surgery, Section of Colorectal Surgery is seeking a fellowship trained colorectal surgeon for the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice. Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
We are seeking candidates with outstanding clinical skills, a collaborative spirit, compassion and the desire to provide high quality care. The person in this position is responsible for providing direct patient care, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients. He/she will participate in teaching activities of the Department including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds; teaching of students and residents in the operating room, clinics, and in-patient services; continuing medical education; and local, regional, and national meetings. In addition, the person in this position will have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents and students and participating in committee memberships at the Departmental and Health System levels.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should be a graduate of an accredited medical school, have completed an accredited general residency training program, have completed an accredited Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship and be Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and have a Texas Medical license without restrictions.

SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
