This leadership role sits at the intersection of renewable energy engineering, large-scale project execution, and team management, driving the design and delivery of distributed solar and storage systems. You will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for end-to-end technical development of community solar, commercial & industrial solar, and energy storage projects. In a fast-evolving clean energy environment, you will balance hands-on technical oversight with strategic leadership, ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes that support construction and long-term system performance. This role requires strong ownership across design, execution, and field support activities, while aligning engineering output with business and operational goals. You will collaborate closely with EPC, construction, and external engineering partners to bring complex renewable projects from concept to completion. - Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team, driving performance, capability development, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Oversee resource planning and workforce allocation in collaboration with senior leadership to ensure efficient project execution.
- Guide technical evaluation of solar and storage projects, including site assessment, system sizing, shading analysis, and energy modeling.
- Direct engineering design execution, including permit-ready and construction drawing packages, ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.
- Manage relationships with third-party engineering firms and ensure delivery of high-quality technical documentation and design outputs.
- Provide oversight of electrical, civil, and structural design reviews, including equipment specifications, protection systems, and system layouts.
- Support construction phases through technical supervision, site visits, commissioning support, and resolution of engineering issues.
- Ensure coordination across engineering, EPC, and construction teams to maintain alignment throughout project lifecycle delivery.
- Stay current with advancements in PV, inverter, storage, and renewable technologies to inform design decisions and innovation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil) with 5–8+ years of experience in renewable energy engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in solar PV systems, including modules, inverters, racking systems, and electrical balance-of-plant design.
- Experience reviewing and validating civil, structural, and electrical engineering design packages for large-scale energy projects.
- Proficiency with industry tools such as PVsyst, AutoCAD, PVcase, Helioscope, ArcGIS, and SAM (or similar platforms).
- Solid understanding of electrical standards and codes (NEC knowledge preferred).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to guide cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting construction, commissioning, and technical issue resolution in field environments.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and willingness to travel up to 20%.
