Position Overview
The Production Control position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all value-add production activities within the fluid power distribution facility. This role ensures on-time delivery, efficient labor utilization, material availability, and clear communication between sales, operations, and procurement across hydraulic hose assembly, hydraulic power unit (HPU) builds, extruded aluminum assemblies, and mechanical kitting operations. This position plays a critical role in balancing customer delivery expectations with production capacity, while maintaining accuracy, quality, and profitability and other duties as assigned. This is an onsite full-time position, M – F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Production Planning & Scheduling

Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for assigned departments.
- Prioritize work orders based on customer due dates, lead times, and capacity constraints.
- Monitor production progress and proactively adjust schedules to address bottlenecks or material delays.
- Release, manage, and close work orders in the ERP/MRP system.
- Ensure bills of material (BOMs), routings, labor standards, and material requirements are accurate.
- Coordinate order changes, expediting, and rescheduling with sales and operations leadership.
- Collaborate with purchasing and inventory control to ensure material availability for production.
- Align labor capacity with demand, supporting overtime planning or workload leveling as needed.
- Serve as the primary liaison between production, sales, engineering, and procurement.
- Support customer on-time delivery (OTD) goals by maintaining schedule visibility and status updates.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as: On-time delivery (OTD), schedule adherence, throughput and lead time
- Identify opportunities to improve production flow, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Support standard work, lean initiatives, and process improvements within value-add operations.
Skills & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Supply Chain Associates Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years’ relevant manufacturing or distribution experience.
- Ability to solve practical problems and provide solutions in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must be experienced in Microsoft Office. Must possess excellent communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills. Must be approachable, collaborative, driven, and exude a high sense of urgency. Must be strategic and multi-task oriented.
- Experience in Prophet 21 and fluid power a plus.
- Ability to read manuals, reports, follow workplace rules and procedures. Be able to present information in a group setting or via various media formats.
- Ability to conduct instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving multiple production variables.
