The RMP Promise
Rocky Mountain Prep is a movement of educators, families, scholars, and advocates committed to changing public education in Colorado by democratizing college access for historically marginalized students and families. We operate twelve college-preparatory schools serving students from early childhood through twelfth grade, and we are fundamentally a world-class learning organization that invests deeply in every educator who joins us. Teachers engage in ongoing coaching and professional development, supported by clear expectations, transparent feedback, and opportunities to strengthen their craft and advance along individualized career pathways grounded in our PEAK values. Rooted in a culture of rigor and love, RMP promises to coach, develop, and champion every team member so they can do their best work and grow as professionals, people, and leaders.
Our Approach to Intervention
At Rocky Mountain Prep, intervention is not remediation—it is acceleration. We believe every middle school scholar can become a confident reader, writer, and mathematician through precise, data-driven, and identity-affirming instruction.
Through our MTSS framework, Interventionists provide targeted Tier II and III support that addresses unfinished learning while maintaining access to grade-level content. Using real-time data, they identify root causes of skill gaps and deliver responsive instruction that builds foundational skills, conceptual understanding, and critical thinking.
Grounded in Rigor and Love, intervention centers discourse, productive struggle, and strong partnerships with families and teachers to accelerate growth and expand opportunity.
Middle School Interventionists at Rocky Mountain Prep will…- Deliver daily Tier II and Tier III intervention in literacy and math through whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction aligned to grade-level standards
- Analyze diagnostic, interim, and formative data to identify skill gaps, determine root causes, set ambitious growth goals, and monitor scholar progress
- Design and adapt targeted lessons that address reading challenges (decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing) and mathematical misconceptions, strengthening both foundational skills and higher-order thinking
- Incorporate blended learning tools and adaptive platforms to provide differentiated practice and accelerate skill development
- Collaborate closely with ELA and math teachers to ensure intervention is tightly aligned to core instruction and upcoming units
- Build culturally responsive classrooms that affirm scholar identity, promote discourse and critical thinking, and cultivate confidence, resilience, and strong academic identities
- Communicate regularly with families and scholars to share progress, build partnership, and provide strategies to support learning at home
- Participate in MTSS meetings and contribute actionable insights to support school-wide academic outcomes
- Support advisory and student supports as needed, promoting agency through goal setting, progress tracking, and skill-building.
- Model RMP’s PEAK values while maintaining high expectations, urgency, and deep belief in every scholar’s brilliance
