ABOUT THE POSITION
Shoreline Orthopaedics is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our clinical team.
This position provides both clinical and administrative support to physicians and advanced practice providers specializing in musculoskeletal care. The Medical Assistant helps ensure efficient patient flow, delivers high-quality clinical support, and creates an exceptional patient experience in a fast-paced orthopedic specialty practice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Support
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies and equipment are ready for patient care.
- Record patient histories, vital signs, medications, and symptoms.
- Apply and remove dressings, splints, braces, and casts as directed.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, rehabilitation protocols, and postoperative care.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Cross-cover other orthopedic specialties as needed.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments, procedures, and surgeries.
- Coordinate diagnostic imaging and therapy referrals.
- Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans and physician instructions.
- Maintain inventory and assist with supply ordering.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during in-office procedures.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection prevention standards.
- Manage clinic phone communications according to provider-specific protocols.
- Obtain and maintain Cast Room Certification.
- Protect patient confidentiality and uphold patient rights.

Education & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current CMA or RMA certification required
- Current CPR certification required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the day
- Frequent computer use
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work safely around specialty orthopedic equipment and biohazardous materials while utilizing appropriate PPE
- Schedule flexibility Monday through Friday between 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM as needed, Occasional Weekends Voluntary
