This role sits at the intersection of product design, front-end engineering, and digital content systems, helping shape the tools that power large-scale editorial and media production workflows. You will translate design vision into functional, high-fidelity prototypes and production-ready interfaces that directly support content creators and editors. The position plays a key role in bridging UX strategy and engineering execution, ensuring seamless collaboration across design, product, and technical teams. You will work deeply within complex content management ecosystems, improving publishing speed, usability, and system consistency. This is a highly collaborative role where systems thinking and hands-on coding come together to enhance how digital content is created and distributed. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and quality of editorial and multimedia production at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Translate product and UX strategy into component-based interfaces, wireframes, and technical design solutions that bridge design intent and engineering execution.
  • Build high-fidelity interactive prototypes and front-end implementations to validate concepts and accelerate development cycles.
  • Develop and maintain production-quality front-end code using modern frameworks and establish reusable UI patterns and styling standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and editorial teams to define functional requirements and optimize content production workflows.
  • Improve and evolve CMS-driven publishing systems, enhancing efficiency, usability, and scalability across editorial and multimedia platforms.
  • Champion accessibility, usability, and performance standards to ensure high-quality experiences for internal creators and external audiences.
  • Participate in cross-functional design and engineering communities to scale best practices and maintain consistency across platforms.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in UX engineering, front-end development, or design technology roles.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design systems, interactive prototypes, and scalable digital product work.
  • Proficiency in modern front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React or Angular).
  • Experience translating abstract design concepts into production-ready code and scalable UI components.
  • Strong understanding of systems thinking, information architecture, and component-based design principles.
  • Expertise in Figma or similar design tools for wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design.
  • Solid knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and semantic development practices.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across design, editorial, and engineering teams.
  • Experience in media, journalism, or complex content-rich digital environments is highly valued.
  • Nice to have: experience with headless CMS platforms, enterprise design systems, or unionized/collaborative engineering environments.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of $125,646 – $140,046 annually, depending on experience and location.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and additional wellness and financial benefits.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer-supported options.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage and life insurance options.
  • Flexible remote or hybrid work arrangements within the United States.
  • Professional development opportunities and support for continuous learning.
  • Inclusive, collaborative work environment focused on creativity, accessibility, and impact.;
