Overview:

• RWJBH is seeking a part-time Advanced Practice Provider for the Cardiac Surgery department at the New Brunswick campus
• This role will be expected to rotate between floor/ICU with possible training and rotation to cardiac surgery operating room for the right candidate
• Role includes rotational nights, weekends, and holidays

Essential Functions:

• Candidates should possess effective time management and critical care skills
• Must be able to adapt and adjust to a large volume of acute patient population
• Skills with procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement, and chest tube placement are preferred
• Must also be accustomed to working as an autonomous provider, for example making treatment decisions and moving patient care forward
• Experience with POCUS is also preferred
• The expectation is for the candidate to work to a full extent of licensure

Education:

• Graduate from NP program with certification in Acute Care, or Adult with previous critical care experience
• NP can only be considered for the OR if they have their RNFA certification
• Physician Assistants need to have graduated from an accredited PA program

Experience:

• 2-3 years of critical care experience minimum
• Licenses and Certifications
• Current NJ APN/PA license required
• NCCPA certification required
• CDS required
• DEA required
• RN required
• RNFA certification optional
• BLS required
• ACLS required
