The VP of Commercial will be responsible for leading commercial strategy, expanding market presence, and building a scalable revenue engine. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership, business development execution, team development, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Translate executive commercial strategy into actionable business development plans, measurable initiatives, and scalable growth programs.
- Identify, evaluate, and advance new opportunities including enterprise partnerships, strategic collaborations, and market expansion initiatives.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations, support deal structuring, and drive the successful closure of high-value opportunities.
- Develop and improve business development processes, playbooks, and sales methodologies to create repeatable growth strategies.
- Oversee sales pipeline performance, forecasting accuracy, opportunity progression, and commercial reporting.
- Partner with business development teams to improve lead generation, conversion rates, account growth, and customer engagement.
- Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs to influence pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, Marketing, and Technology teams to ensure commercial priorities align with product capabilities and customer expectations.
- Capture customer insights and market feedback to support continuous product improvement and innovation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop senior commercial professionals while fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Represent the organization at industry events, partner meetings, and executive-level discussions to strengthen market relationships.
The ideal candidate is a commercially driven leader with proven experience growing revenue, building partnerships, and leading teams within healthcare, life sciences, technology, or SaaS environments.
- Significant experience in business development, commercial leadership, sales strategy, or revenue growth roles within healthcare, life sciences, or SaaS organizations.
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, closing complex enterprise deals, and developing strategic partnerships.
- Experience leading and developing senior-level commercial teams with a focus on accountability and performance.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to convert business objectives into practical execution plans.
- Excellent executive communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Deep understanding of healthcare and life sciences markets, including customer needs across commercial and academic sectors.
- Strong analytical and forecasting capabilities, with experience using CRM platforms, sales metrics, and performance insights to guide decisions.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, scaling organization with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Experience collaborating across Product, Marketing, Operations, and Technology teams to drive customer-focused outcomes.
