Director, Commercial Operations-East

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Commercial Operations-East based in United States.

This role is designed for a commercial operations leader who will play a key part in supporting the successful development and launch of an innovative healthcare product.
The position will serve as a strategic partner to field teams, ensuring operational excellence across CRM, targeting, logistics, and commercial processes.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize field effectiveness and enable data-driven decision-making.
This opportunity combines strategic planning, vendor management, training, and hands-on execution within a fast-moving biopharmaceutical environment.
The ideal candidate will bring deep industry expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to build scalable commercial infrastructure.
As part of a fully remote organization, you will have the flexibility to work while making a measurable impact on a critical product launch.

Accountabilities:

The Director, Commercial Operations-East will lead key commercial operations initiatives supporting field teams and launch readiness. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, operational discipline, and the ability to optimize commercial processes through technology, analytics, and strategic planning.

  • Serve as the primary commercial operations partner for field teams, supporting sales, medical affairs, and market access stakeholders.
  • Lead CRM implementation, administration, training, and ongoing optimization in collaboration with external technology partners.
  • Manage field alignment activities, including territory design, field roster management, healthcare organization and healthcare provider targeting, and data change requests.
  • Support incentive compensation processes, prescription allocation reviews, and reporting-related challenges.
  • Coordinate sample operations, logistics, and vendor activities to ensure efficient field support.
  • Manage fleet operations and logistics in partnership with external providers and field leadership.
  • Train commercial teams on reporting tools, data sources, CRM capabilities, and operational processes.
  • Facilitate credentialing and state licensing processes for field employees.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure operational alignment.
  • Use performance metrics and analytics to identify opportunities for improving field force effectiveness and commercial execution.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a commercial operations professional with extensive experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical environments, combining strategic thinking with hands-on operational expertise.

  • 8+ years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial operations, field training, or related commercial enablement functions.
  • 3+ years of field experience as a sales representative, first-line manager, or medical science liaison.
  • Proven experience supporting pharmaceutical commercial launches or field force effectiveness initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial CRM platforms, including Veeva CRM, OpenData, and Network solutions.
  • Experience managing multiple vendors across CRM implementation, incentive compensation, sampling, and fleet operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple internal stakeholders and field teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using reporting tools and performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
