Position: Manager, Strategic Accounts, High School Study Abroad
Reports to: Associate Director of Sales, High School Study Abroad
Department: High School Outbound – Global Navigator High School Study Abroad
Location: U.S. Remote states: New York City or Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut).
Compensation: $65,000 -75,000 annual compensation (on-target earnings, inclusive of eligible incentive pay)

Who you are:
The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) serves as the primary liaison between CIEE and an assigned portfolio of 20-25 U.S. high schools. The SAM’s primary goals are to understand each school’s needs related to international education and study abroad, present CIEE’s full suite of study abroad programs and services to the school, and meet and/or exceed enrollment targets for all CIEE study abroad programs and services (e.g. High School Summer Abroad, High School Semester, Custom Programs, Gap Year Abroad, College First Year Abroad). A successful SAM will be a proactive problem solver with excellent interpersonal, communication, and sales skills. This position will require domestic travel and some international travel.
What you’ll do:
- Territory Ownership and Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of school influencers and advocates—including educators, administrators, counselors, parents and guardians, alumni, and community stakeholders across an assigned portfolio of partner schools—to strengthen CIEE's presence and impact.
- Collaborate with school partners to increase awareness of study abroad opportunities, diversify participation, and integrate global education into the broader school community.
- Strategic Planning and Growth:
- Develop and execute strategic partnership plans that increase student participation in CIEE programs and align study abroad opportunities with each school's goals, priorities, and student needs.
- Meet or exceed team enrollment goals, partnership objectives, and other key performance metrics established throughout the year.
- Collaborate with CIEE teams such as marketing and philanthropy to identifyschool-specific areas for growth.
- Sales Leadership and Pipeline Management: Lead, manage, and mentor direct reports (Enrollment Coordinators) to oversee the student sales process from lead generation to student travel. Maximize conversions through close communication and teamwork.
- Presentations and Events:
- Deliver engaging presentations to students, parents, and administrators, both virtually and in-person. Travel within your region during the enrollment season to represent CIEE at conferences, pre-departure orientations, and regional or national professional gatherings.
- Manage travel and engagement budgets responsibly while maintaining a strong presence within assigned schools and regions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze enrollment trends, school engagement data, and market opportunities to inform partnership strategies, identify areas for growth, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records of all outreach activities and engagement plans within our CRM system (e.g., Salesforce). Proactively manage administrative and customer service tasks related to the enrollment and pre-departureprocess.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
What you’ll bring:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 4 years of sales or other relevant experience, with a proven track record of building strong client relationships.
- Experience in international education or related K-12 industries is a plus.
- Spanish proficiency preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in sales leadership or management.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a proven ability to build a sales territory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present dynamically to large groups.
- Proficiency in using a CRM system (e.g., Salesforce) to organize and prioritize a sales pipeline.
- Willingness to be a flexible team member with a passion for education and a belief in the power of global citizenship.
- Eagerness to travel within your territory during the key enrollment season.

Location Requirements
The position is open to candidates located in New York City or the Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut).
