The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions while supporting project execution, technical coordination, and operational excellence. The role requires strong collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure successful delivery within project scope, budget, and timelines.
- Design and coordinate mechanical packages for turbomachinery systems, including auxiliary equipment, rotating equipment components, fluid systems, and related mechanical assemblies.
- Review customer specifications, engineering requirements, and industry standards to develop compliant technical solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, purchase requisitions, and engineering specifications to support procurement activities.
- Manage technical communication with suppliers, customers, and internal engineering teams throughout project execution.
- Support project planning, scheduling, budget management, and technical risk mitigation activities.
- Review supplier drawings, calculations, documentation, and mechanical layouts to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, customer coordination meetings, and technical discussions.
- Provide engineering support for equipment selection, system integration, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
- Ensure adherence to engineering processes, quality standards, safety practices, and ethical business conduct.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to support team development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and project execution methods.
The ideal candidate is an experienced mechanical engineering professional with expertise in mechanical design, turbomachinery systems, and industrial equipment. Strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or an equivalent four-year technical qualification.
- Typically 2–18 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, turbomachinery auxiliary systems, or similar industrial engineering roles.
- Experience with mechanical equipment design, procurement, supplier coordination, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment packages and auxiliary systems, including lubrication systems, sealing systems, cooling systems, and related components.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as API 610, API 612, API 614, API 617, API 670, API 692, and ASTM is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, engineering documents, and customer requirements.
- Experience managing suppliers and supporting customer-facing technical activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across international and multicultural teams.
- Experience using engineering software tools, including AutoCAD and 3D modelling platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with project management or product lifecycle management systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required.
