Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a commercially astute Account Manager to own and grow a portfolio of strategic and mid-tier customers across targeted markets. The ideal candidate brings B2B experience in specialty chemicals (or adjacent technical industries), excels at consultative selling, and can translate complex product capabilities into clear customer value. You'll thrive in a global matrix environment, partnering cross‑functionally to deliver differentiated solutions, secure long-term agreements, and achieve profitable growth.

What will you be doing?

Account Management is the systematic approach of building and growing long-term, value-added, and mutually beneficial relationships with a named set of our most important customers. Account Management places priority, focus, resources, and collaboration on specific accounts that can help us (or are helping us) grow the business in significant ways. When done effectively...

    • We foster development, growth, and retention at all levels within these specific accounts.
    • We maximize the value we bring to these customers' businesses by enabling their strategies and success.
    • We maximize the value these accounts bring to ESI through revenue and profit potential, relationships, and access to markets and technologies.
  • This position matches the scope of our Regional Account Manager positions, with the key difference being that in this role the support and selling efforts with customers are managed via Teams meetings, over the phone, and email instead of traveling to the customer locations for in-person meetings.
  • The Account Manager is directly responsible for achieving year-over-year revenue and margin growth targets as well as assigned account development goals and objectives for a defined number of important customers for our business.
  • The Account Manager is dedicated to and hyper-focused on his/her assigned accounts. He/she acts as the orchestra conductor for aligning and coordinating the resources required (both internally and externally) to achieve our mutual strategies and successes.
  • The Account Manager is our main face and voice to the customer and is missioned to help us achieve trusted advisor status in the eyes of the customer by helping them meet their strategic initiatives utilizing our products and services in their business.
  • The account manager will be accountable to provide profitable revenue growth for each of our "Lines of Business" within the account (where applicable)
  • The accounts supported will range from well-established accounts to accounts we have identified as having potential but currently have not been penetrated.
  • Integrate and collaborate with Outside Sales Teams for business development and account incubation activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Technical Support, Product Management, and International Colleagues.
Who are You?
  • Bachelor's degree required. Graduate degree and specific credentials are valued.
  • Required to travel to training events and corporate sales meetings, approximately two to four times per year.
  • Proficient English language capability - written and verbal.
  • Experience in using a CRM tool is required, preferably Salesforce.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Mandarin is valued.
  • Preferred location is the Mountain Time Zone, with Pacific and Central Time Zones considered.
What competencies will you need?

  • Ideal candidate has a background in outside sales with a desire to perform the same functions with less travel.
  • Ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior Business Development experience and skills
  • Strong industry/ domain / vertical experience and knowledge.
  • Some network in the industry and/or target sector.
  • Experience selling specific and related technologies and/or adjacent technologies
We are Offering...
