Title: Delivery Driver
Reports To: Assigned Department Lead or Supervisor
Status: Non-Exempt
Wages: Hourly
Work Week: Full-time
General description summary?
The Delivery Driver is responsible for making deliveries or pickups to customers, co-packers, internal transfers to sister locations. Will drive a variety of vehicles and perform random tests on the reach to ensure an effective delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include?
- Responsible for Safely driving and operating delivery vehicles.
- Responsible for review routing and customer delivery information on a physical document, google suite applications via smartphones.
- Responsible for following all written and verbal instructions from supervisors to ensure packages are delivered to the correct location, on-time, every time.
- Responsible for providing clear and timely communication with the dispatcher(s), retailer(s) and vendor(s).
- Responsible for receiving and understanding communications from the dispatcher(s), retailer(s) and vendor(s).
- Responsible for verifying all paperwork.
- Responsible for packing and loading of products onto vans according to the company's specifications.
- Responsible for completing routes in the allotted time while being safe at all times and accurate. Review ETA on each shipment and report any changes to management.
- Responsible for providing a best-in-class customer experience.
- Responsible for maintaining vehicles cleanliness and overall maintenance.
- Responsible for completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Responsible for posting information regarding deliveries onto a company message board, using a smartphone.
- Responsible for completing required compliance-related paperwork for transactions.
- Responsible for abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
- Responsible for adhering to licensing practices and all California Cannabis Regs (DCC), standard safety protocols, etc.
- Follow all safety policies and processes; all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safety standards.
- Other duties may apply as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated safe ability to drive.
- Knowledgeable and experienced as delivery driver.
- read, write, and speak English; receive, and provide clear instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills
Qualification
- High School Diploma, or equivalent work experience
- Strong Background: Previous experience with a minimum of 3 years of delivery driver proven experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be over 21 to apply Cannabis Industry Requirement
- Must possess Valid California Driver's License; must prosses a clean driving record with no tickets or accidents for last 3 years.
- Must be able to pass all required reference and background check.
- Cash handling, management experience and comfort with handling large sums of cash preferred.
- Ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, squat, twist for duration of shift.
- Must be comfortable driving long distances.
- Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and the customer experience required.
- Previous logistics, cargo transport, shipping and warehouse experience preferred.
- Previous experience in the legal cannabis market a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking and organizational skills required.
- Attendance is required. If you are not there on time, you will have to make up the time by working longer hours.
