Overview
As a Maintenance Technician at Velociti Services, your primary responsibility is to preserve the condition, safety, and functionality of our client’s business premises. This role performs all aspects of general facility maintenance, including inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, inventory management, and coordination with outside vendors.
The ideal candidate is a versatile maintenance professional with practical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, along with strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. EPA Section 608 Universal Certification and HVAC certification are required.
This position serves as the designated on-call technician for after-hours maintenance emergencies, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment and damaged building structures.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures.
- Maintain and repair HVAC, heating, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems within training and qualifications.
- Plan, prioritize, and schedule repairs to minimize disruption to client operations.
- Conduct periodic quality checks to ensure equipment and systems meet facility standards.
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including landscaping, painting, carpentry, and building repairs.
- Work with outside vendors and contractors to schedule services, coordinate access, monitor progress, and verify completed work.
- Assist with developing and managing the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.
- Document maintenance activities and completed repairs in the work order system.
- Communicate maintenance concerns, repair updates, and equipment needs to management.
- Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as the designated on-call technician.
- Follow safety procedures, use required personal protective equipment, and handle refrigerants properly.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Current EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
- HVAC certification from an accredited technical school or recognized training program.
- Experience performing general facility maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building repairs.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems, maintenance procedures, and common tools and appliances.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Familiarity with work order systems, inventory management, and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple requests, and coordinate with outside vendors.
- Availability to work 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. and respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies.
- Successful completion of a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and verification of authorization to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:
Applicants for this role must be able to:
- Lift, bend, squat, and stretch to move boxes, parcels, and shipments
- Climb small to medium flights of stairs multiple times a day
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Approximately equal amount of time sitting and walking
- Requires ability to bend, reach and stand for extended periods
- Able to hear and speak into a telephone and walkie-talkie
- Close visual work on a computer terminal
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Able to climb a ladder and work on a raised platform
