Job Description
Jones Petroleum is interviewing candidates for a position in our growing Human Resources Department, located in our Jackson, Georgia office. This is a full-time position with full company benefits.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of health, dental,vision, life insurance, and retirement plans (e.g., 401(k)), including new hire enrollment, qualifying life events, EDI file feeds and terminations.
- Audit and reconcile vendor invoices against internal payroll deductions to ensure accurate payments and support claims review.
- Conduct benefits orientations, prepare educational materials, and guide staff through the annual Open Enrollment period.
- Maintain auditable records and ensure adherence to legal requirements, such as ACA (Affordable Care Act) reporting.
- Analyze industry trends and survey data to help leadership design competitive, cost-efficient benefits packages.
Personal qualifications and attributes necessary for successful performance in this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in benefits administration, HR, or a related financial discipline, working with 200+ employees.
- Ability to work on premises in Jackson, GA
- Must have strong, in-depth knowledge of payroll technology, payroll processing, tax principles, and FLSA/wage and hour laws.
- Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and manage and prioritize tasks and deadlines; demonstrate team leadership skills; be a team player; pay close attention to detail; maintain a customer service focus (internal and external); solve problems; and analyze information from various sources.
- The preferred candidate will have experience with Paylocity payroll systems.
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Extensive knowledge of HIPAA/PPI.
- Must be willing to work extended hours during payroll processing days.
- The preferred candidate will have experience in customer service, payroll, human resources, benefits administration, or relevant work experience.
- High attention to detail for processing complex data,payroll deductions, and invoice reconciliations.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills for simplifying complex benefit details and assisting employees.
