Position Overview
We are seeking a talented, detail-oriented Part-Time Photographer to join our creative team on a contract basis. In this role, you will collaborate with our internal creative staff to capture clear, engaging, high-quality photos that align with our brand specifications. The candidate will use the Riley Blake Designs Photography Studio and local indoor and outdoor locations for fabric, notions, and quilt photography.
This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional who excels in product photography and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
As an independent contractor, the successful candidate will be responsible for their own tax obligations and insurance.
Duties Include:
• Understanding priorities to photograph items promptly.
• Capture high-quality product, lifestyle, or studio photography according to brand guidelines.
• Collaborate efficiently with internal team members to share workload and meet production deadlines.
• Edit photography per our brand photography guidelines.
• Handle and submit digital asset management, including basic file organization and transferring images to the editing team/digital library.
• Organize and name photography.
• Maintain and manage photography equipment.
• Maintain a professional, organized, and efficient workflow during scheduled shoot days.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Proven professional photography experience with a strong portfolio highlighting product work.
• A strong creative presence and artistic flair.
• Strong understanding of flat-lay photography
• Has the artistic knowledge to enhance and compose photographs.
• Use of Adobe Suite photo-editing software to achieve desired results.
• Proficiency with professional camera equipment, including single-lens reflex cameras, film, studio lighting, and digital photography workflows.
• Knowledge of craft and/or the craft industry preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other creative team members.
• Excellent time-management skills and reliability in meeting project deadlines.
• Able to follow instructions clearly to achieve desired results.
• Thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to travel to local locations to photograph quilts creatively.
• The ability to stand or crouch for long periods.
• The ability to lift 20 lbs.
• Contractor Status: Must operate as an independent contractor.
