Lead Frontend Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the development of enterprise-scale web applications within a high-impact engineering environment.
You will shape frontend architecture, drive technical decisions, and deliver exceptional user experiences across modern platforms.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the technical design, architecture, and implementation of major frontend features across multiple platforms, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards.
  • Drive frontend strategy and architectural decisions across Angular and React ecosystems while promoting modern development practices and technology adoption.
  • Partner closely with UX/UI designers to transform high-fidelity designs into accessible, responsive, and pixel-perfect user interfaces while providing technical guidance on feasibility and user experience improvements.
  • Mentor and support frontend engineers through code reviews, pair programming, knowledge sharing, and best practice development.
  • Architect and build scalable applications using modern versions of Angular, React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Design and implement effective state management solutions using technologies such as NgRx, Redux, or MobX.
  • Develop and maintain Micro-Frontend architectures supporting complex applications and multiple technology frameworks.
  • Collaborate with backend engineering teams to design, integrate, and optimize RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Establish and maintain high-quality testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, while supporting strong code coverage standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes, development workflows, and application performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with additional specialized training.
  • 10+ years of professional frontend development experience building complex, large-scale applications.
  • Proven experience in technical leadership, architecture ownership, mentoring, or guiding engineering teams.
  • Expert-level knowledge of both Angular and React frameworks, including their ecosystems, performance considerations, and best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Advanced understanding of UX/UI principles with the ability to translate designs from tools such as Figma or Sketch into high-quality, accessible applications.
  • Extensive experience designing, integrating, and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of frontend testing frameworks and engineering quality practices.
  • Experience with modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Experience building data visualization solutions using libraries such as AG Grid, D3.js, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Background working in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries is preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
