Job Description

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Kingdom Internal Medicine (KIM) team. As a CMA, you'll work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to help deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

About This Role

As a Certified Medical Assistant with Kingdom Internal Medicine, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice. Working under the supervision of physicians and advanced practice providers, you'll provide both clinical and administrative support while serving as an important point of contact for patients throughout their healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients, schedule appointments, answer phone calls, update insurance and demographic information, and support efficient patient flow throughout the practice.
  • Conduct patient screenings, obtain health histories and vital signs, and accurately document information within the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and other clinical activities while ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, assemble sterile instruments and supplies, and clean and maintain clinical equipment according to established protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in a medical office or ambulatory care setting.
  • Experience using electronic health records (EHRs).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care.
