Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-oriented Truck Driver to support our manufacturing operations by transporting large machinery parts, components, and finished goods between our facility, suppliers, and customers throughout the State of Michigan. The ideal candidate holds a valid Michigan Chauffeur License, maintains a clean driving record, and has experience operating pickup trucks and stake trucks in an industrial or manufacturing environment. This position plays an important role in supporting daily production needs and offers opportunities to assist in warehouse and shop operations when not on the road.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all company safety policies and applicable state transportation regulations at all times.
  • Operate company-owned pickup trucks and stake trucks safely and efficiently for scheduled pickups and deliveries.
  • Transport large machinery parts and materials to and from manufacturing, industrial, and customer sites.
  • Load, secure, and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Verify delivery and pickup documentation to ensure accurate counts and proper packaging.
  • Accurately complete delivery logs, inspections, shipping paperwork, and related records as required.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules while adjusting as needed due to operational changes.
  • Use proper lifting and material handling techniques for items up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and work area.
  • Support warehouse and shop operations as needed during non-driving hours, which may include assisting with prepping, staging, packaging, and organizing parts between delivery runs.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and external partners.

Experience & Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or delivery environment preferred.
  • Prior experience operating pickup trucks, stake trucks, or other light commercial vehicles is desirable.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Chauffeur License.
  • Minimum age of 21 years old.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no DUI/DWI in the past 5 years.
  • Experience operating stake trucks or non-CDL commercial motor vehicles.
  • Knowledge of safe vehicle operation, load securement, and daily inspection procedures.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform material handling tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work on feet between driving assignments.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to become certified upon hire.
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and attention to safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience delivering machinery, industrial parts, or manufacturing materials.
  • Basic mechanical awareness to identify potential vehicle safety or maintenance issues.
  • Willingness to assist in multiple areas of the facility and take on additional responsibilities.

Work Schedule:

  • Status: Full-Time
  • Standard Hours: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Overtime: Available and may be required based on workload. Occasional Fridays and weekends may be required depending on delivery deadlines and production demands.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • This role involves both driving and warehouse/shop floor work.
  • Work is primarily local, daytime driving within approximately a 150-mile radius.
  • May involve exposure to typical manufacturing and warehouse conditions, including noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory when performing warehouse or shop duties.
