About the Role:
The Unit Manager - LPN/RN plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of a healthcare unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in compliance with regulatory standards. This position involves coordinating nursing staff, managing patient care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize health outcomes. The Unit Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and compassionate environment for both patients and staff. Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or long-term care setting.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree.
- Certification in nursing leadership or management (e.g., Nurse Executive Certification).
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Familiarity with budgeting and resource management within a healthcare unit.
- Advanced skills in conflict resolution and team-building.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities to ensure quality patient care and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and patients’ families.
- Manage staffing schedules, including hiring, training, and evaluating nursing personnel to maintain optimal unit performance.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies within the unit.
- Monitor patient outcomes and quality indicators, initiating improvements as necessary to enhance care delivery.
- Oversee inventory management of medical supplies and equipment to support clinical operations.
- Facilitate communication between nursing staff, physicians, patients, and families to promote a collaborative care environment.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation related to patient care, staffing, and unit performance.
