Logistics Manager – School Meal Delivery (Phoenix)
Nutrition One | 2508 N 33rd Ave, Phoenix, AZ | Full-Time, Exempt | $58,000–$68,000/year
Lead the team that gets nutritious meals to Phoenix-area school kids every day. You'll run routes, manage a driver and server team, keep food safety compliance on track, and be the problem-solver when things change fast. Heads up: this isn't a warehouse or freight logistics job — routes follow school bell schedules, not delivery zones, and there's real physical work, real paperwork, and real people-management involved. - Supervise, coach, and schedule a driver and server team — including performance management and corrective action when needed
- Build and adjust delivery routes around school schedules, meal counts, and last-minute changes
- Run pre-departure audits on meal accuracy, temperature, and paperwork
- Keep compliance documentation current — temperature logs, production records, USDA reporting, and staff certifications
- Troubleshoot problems in real time (breakdowns, school closures, count errors) and improve processes so they happen less
- Serve as the main point of contact for school nutrition coordinators — professional, calm customer service under pressure
- Support inventory, equipment tracking, and garage organization
- 2+ years supervising a delivery, food service, or similar frontline team
- Valid Arizona driver's license, clean driving record
- Valid Food Handler's Card (or able to get one within 5 days of hire)
- Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ DPS) — required for school-site access (or able to apply within 5 days)
- Comfortable with Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish, preferred!
- Familiar with ADP, big plus
Nice to have: USDA child nutrition program experience (NSLP/CACFP/SFSP), forklift certification, bilingual Spanish.
- On your feet and moving through kitchens, garages, and school sites for extended periods
- Regularly lifting/moving up to 50 lbs, and up to 100 lbs with carts/dollies/pallet jacks
- Time in coolers, freezers, and outdoor loading areas
- Daily local driving between the kitchen, garage, and school sites, as applicable
