SURGERY SCHEDULING COORDINATOR in Henrico, Virginia at StrideCare

Job Summary: The Surgery Scheduler Coordinator manages and coordinates surgical procedures, verifies insurance and authorizations, ensures required documentation is complete, and communicates pre-operative instructions to patients. This role works closely with clinical staff to support an efficient scheduling process and a positive patient experience.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with patients, surgeons, and hospitals.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
• Maintain records of pre-certifications and authorizations; keep patients informed of progress.
• Prepare cost estimates and provide information on sedation, anesthesia, and post-op instructions.
• Schedule post-operative visits and ensure patients meet pre-op requirements.
• Other Duties as assigned.

• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and clinical staff.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in medical scheduling preferred.
