Job Description
Do you enjoy managing programs, coordinating events, working with volunteers, and ensuring participants have an exceptional experience from start to finish?
Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson is seeking an organized, relationship-focused professional to lead the council's Highest Awards programs, including the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards—the most prestigious awards in Girl Scouting.
This role serves as the primary resource for Girl Scouts, families, volunteers, and community partners participating in the Highest Awards journey. From coordinating trainings and managing volunteer mentors to overseeing award processes, ceremonies, scholarships, and participant support, you will play a key role in helping Girl Scouts achieve their highest level of recognition.
What You'll Do
• Manage all aspects of the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award programs across the council's seven-county service area.
• Coordinate and facilitate trainings, workshops, and information sessions for Girl Scouts, volunteers, and caregivers.
• Recruit, train, support, and communicate with a network of volunteer mentors.
• Guide participants through award requirements, project approval processes, and successful completion of their awards.
• Oversee award tracking systems, scholarship processes, and participant records.
• Plan and execute Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award recognition ceremonies and related events.
• Partner with staff and community organizations to expand awareness, access, and participation in Highest Awards programs.
• Monitor program goals, outcomes, and participation trends to support continued growth and excellence.
• Serve as the council's primary point of contact for Highest Awards programs.
What We're Looking For
• Experience managing programs, projects, events, or volunteer-driven initiatives.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Experience building relationships with volunteers, participants, families, and community partners.
• Comfort facilitating trainings, workshops, and group meetings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database or CRM systems.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
Preferred Background
• Experience in youth-serving organizations, nonprofit programs, education, volunteer management, community engagement, or event planning.
• Experience coordinating recognition programs, participant-based programs, or leadership development initiatives.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar database systems.
Why Join Us?
Every year, Girl Scouts earning the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards lead projects that address real community needs and create lasting impact. In this role, you will help guide and support those journeys while managing one of the most respected and meaningful programs in Girl Scouting.
If you are a highly organized professional who enjoys program management, volunteer engagement, and helping others achieve ambitious goals, we encourage you to apply.
