SEO Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SEO Specialist based in the United States.

This role is a senior-level opportunity for a search and content optimization expert who understands both traditional SEO and the rapidly evolving world of AI-driven search. You will be responsible for designing and executing strategies that improve organic visibility across search engines while also ensuring content is discoverable and cited by emerging answer engines. The role blends technical SEO, content strategy, and advanced AI-era optimization practices such as AEO, GEO, and LLMO. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to translate complex search concepts into clear, high-impact strategies that drive measurable growth. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and innovation-driven, with a strong emphasis on experimentation and continuous learning. You will play a key role in shaping how brands appear not only in search results but also in AI-generated answers across platforms such as ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews.

Accountabilities:

This role is responsible for leading SEO and AEO strategy development, execution, and performance reporting across multiple client accounts, ensuring strong visibility in both traditional and AI-powered search environments.

  • Develop and own end-to-end SEO and AEO strategies across technical, on-page, off-page, and content optimization channels.
  • Conduct comprehensive SEO audits covering technical performance, content structure, keyword targeting, schema, and entity optimization.
  • Build AI-ready content structures designed for retrieval, citation, and answer engine visibility (including Q&A formats and semantic chunking).
  • Implement and optimize structured data (Schema.org) to enhance machine readability and AI citation potential.
  • Optimize websites for technical performance, including site speed, HTML structure, indexing, image optimization, and crawlability.
  • Lead entity-based optimization strategies to strengthen brand relevance and trust across AI systems and search engines.
  • Monitor SEO and AI visibility performance, including rankings, citations, and share-of-answer metrics, and iterate strategies accordingly.
  • Present insights, strategies, and performance reporting directly to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Train and support team members on SEO and AEO best practices and evolving search methodologies.
Requirements

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced SEO professional with strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep curiosity about how AI is reshaping search and content discovery.

  • 7+ years of experience in digital marketing or SEO within an agency environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of SEO and emerging AEO/GEO/LLMO concepts and AI-driven search behavior.
  • Deep understanding of technical SEO, including site architecture, speed optimization, and crawl/indexation.
  • Experience with on-page, off-page, and content SEO strategies, including internal linking and semantic optimization.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using tools such as GA4, Google Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working in fast-paced, multi-client environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous learning mindset, especially around AI and search evolution.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Bonus: Experience with CRO, A/B testing, paid search, ORM, MarTech, and RAG-based AI concepts.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary aligned with senior-level SEO expertise (US market competitive)
  • Remote-first flexibility across the United States
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge SEO and AI-driven search strategies
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (where applicable)
  • Paid time off and flexible work arrangements
  • Professional development and training opportunities in emerging AI search technologies
  • Collaborative, innovation-focused agency environment
  • Exposure to advanced tools and methodologies in SEO, AEO, and digital analytics.
