The Opportunity: Sheet Metal Estimator

Primary Function: Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will create complex and highly technical quotes and process sheet metal parts and assemblies. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.

Essential Functions:

• Develop lean manufacturing processes, techniques, and procedures while aligning PEKO capabilities with customer requirements. Actively promote and participate in a cross-functional teamwork environment.
• Quoting for sheet metal with Lasers, Turrets, Press Brakes, welding, painting (wet & powder), CAD, GD&T interpretation, and tooling knowledge.
• Using a hands-on approach inclusive of interaction and collaboration with sheet metal, quality, and technical staff and the ability to communicate project progress to management.
• Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
• Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
• Identify engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Basic Qualifications:

• Post-high school technical education (two to a four-year degree) in Manufacturing Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, related field, or equivalent related work experience
• 3+ years of experience estimating in a custom manufacturing environment
• Experience with blueprint reading and GD&T required.
• Basic understanding/knowledge of sheet metal as it relates to manufacturing parts and designing tooling.

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year. The wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational requirements.
