Overview
Electric Boat’s Tactical Software Engineering department designs, tests, and installs software for US Navy Nuclear Submarines. Electric Boat is seeking highly skilled Cybersecurity and Network Engineers to support the architecture, design, implementation, and testing of software deliverables, and support the build out of a new multi-site software-specific development network supporting component and systems labs. This role is critical to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of both ship-board and enterprise systems used to design the world’s most advanced submarines.
What you’ll be doing:
You will play a critical role in architecting secure network solutions, engineering security into cutting edge software, enforcing cybersecurity best practices, and supporting business scalability through architecting and building out resilient high-performing infrastructure.
- Interface closely with hardware, systems, software, and test engineering departments.
- Architect, configure, and maintain the multi-site software development network & shipboard systems.
- Adjust system configurations as needed to solve development road blocks without compromising security, compliance, or schedules.
- Prepare presentations and participate in NAVSEA design reviews.
- Tactical application administration.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s of Science degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Five or more years of relevant post-graduate engineering experience
- Must possess, or have the ability to obtain & maintain, a DoD Secret clearance with the potential for a DoD Top Secret.
Preferred:
- COMPTIA Security+, Network+, CISSP, or CASP+ certified.
- Experience building and/or working in DevSecOps environments.
- Experience in administering and managing corporate/development networks.
- Proficiency in programming languages like C/C++, Java, Python, Go.
- Experience testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
- Understanding of computing environments, including virtualization, containerization, networks and protocols, identity access management, PKI, vulnerability assessment tools, etc..
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53 control families and their application.
- Experience with Linux Operating System.
- Experience with Bash scripting.
- Knowledge in configuring Cisco and Arista switches (MLAG,trunking etc).
- Knowledge of Ansibile.
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
