Job Description

The Associate gives a new engagement its footing. In this role, you’ll make sure every document we ask a client for actually comes in, every number is entered correctly, and nothing goes overlooked. It’s detail-heavy work, and it matters: a clean, accurate data picture early in an engagement keeps everything downstream - financial models, technical research, the client presentation - moving on schedule.

Your day-to-day work is directed by the Analyst. The Relationship Manager has the final call when priorities conflict, though that’s the exception rather than the norm.

This is also where your career at ACG begins - with real exposure across the engagement and a clear path to grow into the Analyst seat.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
Nothing falls through the cracks. Every document you’re tracking gets chased down and filed, every number you enter is accurate, and the Analyst can build on your work without needing to double-check it.
What You Will Own:

Document Intake & Follow-Through

- Document Request List - enter the document request list into the client portal accurately and completely.

- Chase to Close (Supporting Documents) - chase outstanding supporting documents needed for the engagement - bank statements, tax returns, trust and entity documents, investment and insurance statements - track every request to close, and keep an honest, current status the team can rely on.

- AI-Assisted Document Review - use ACG’s AI tools to help pre-screen, extract, and summarize incoming documents, flagging anything that needs a closer look so nothing important gets missed.

Data & Modeling

- Systems of Record & Data Accuracy - enter and maintain client data in the balance sheet, eMoney, AOS, and other systems of record, keeping it current and accurate throughout the engagement; flag anything that looks off before it becomes a problem downstream.

- Status-Quo Model - build the firm’s standard status-quo cash flow model and balance sheet using our templates.

Deliverable & Analysis Support

- Financial Modeling Support - assist with models and analyses - in Excel, HTML, or tools like Manus - that quantify scenarios, project cash flows, and show the impact of proposed strategies.

- Client Presentations - help build clear, client-ready PowerPoint slides as directed by the Analyst.

- Ad Hoc Analysis - pitch in on client-driven work - tax projections, estate/succession support, investment analysis - as needed, with the same care and accuracy expected on everything you touch, from a quick data entry to a client-ready deck.

Documentation & Meeting Support

- Meeting Notes of Record - attend the pre-kickoff meeting and kickoff call; own the notes for these sessions, using the recorded transcript as backup to double-check accuracy; share notes out and add action items to AOS.

- Supporting Documentation - keep supporting materials organized and audit-ready - label files clearly and flag the relevant passages.

- Research Library - file completed research using consistent naming so the team can find and reuse it later.

- Process Improvement - flag opportunities to improve workflow, documentation, or research processes where you see them.

Growth Track (Building Toward Analyst)

- Learn the Lifecycle - learn the full engagement lifecycle by doing real work across it from day one.

- Build Technical Depth - grow your tax, financial, and modeling fundamentals toward Analyst-ready work.

- Take on More - take on progressively more analytical work as your skills develop.

- Own Your Development - ask good questions, follow through on commitments, and drive your own progression toward Analyst.

- Professional Development - pursue additional education and certifications to support your growth path.
What We Are Looking For:

Required:

- Education - Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Excel & PowerPoint - strong working knowledge - organized spreadsheets, simple models, clean slide decks.

- Comfort With AI Tools - comfortable learning and using AI-powered tools as part of everyday work - we lean on them heavily and expect people to pick up new ones quickly.

- Attention to Detail - exceptional attention to detail and a real commitment to accuracy.

- Written Communication - clear, precise summaries and analysis.

- Curiosity - genuine curiosity and a willingness to dig into unfamiliar subject matter quickly.

- Professionalism - professional demeanor and discretion with sensitive client and financial information.

- Team Orientation - reliable, proactive, and easy to work with - follows through and asks good questions.

Preferred:

- Coursework - coursework or self-study in federal income tax, corporate taxation, or estate and gift tax.

- Prior Experience - an internship or work experience in accounting, finance, banking, law, or professional services.

- Technical Foundation - a solid foundation in tax and financial concepts.

- Credential Track - CPA exam eligibility upon graduation, or intent to pursue CPA, CFA, or JD.
