About the role
GP Motor Company is seeking an organized, mechanically knowledgeable Parts Manager to oversee the parts process for our vehicle reconditioning operation. This position owns the entire parts workflow—from identifying and sourcing required parts through ordering, receiving, inventory management, installation coordination, returns, credits, and final Repair Order documentation.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands automotive parts, maintains accurate records, and knows how to keep vehicles moving through reconditioning without unnecessary delays.
Position Details- Pay: $20–$22 per hour, based on experience
- Additional Compensation: Performance-based bonus opportunities

- Review vehicle inspection results and identify required parts.
- Research and source parts through dealerships, manufacturers, aftermarket suppliers, online marketplaces, salvage yards, and other vendors.
- Verify part numbers, vehicle fitment, quantities, pricing, availability, and delivery dates before ordering.
- Balance cost, quality, and delivery time when making purchasing decisions.
- Track outstanding orders, special-order items, delayed shipments, and backordered parts.
- Receive and inspect incoming parts for accuracy and damage.
- Match, label, catalog, and store parts according to the correct vehicle and Repair Order.
- Maintain accurate parts inventory and records within Dealertrack.
- Create and maintain Repair Orders from initial purchase through final accounting.
- Match invoices and expenses to the correct vehicle and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage returns for incorrect, damaged, or unused parts and confirm that all credits and refunds are received.
- Identify vehicles delayed by outstanding parts and actively pursue solutions.
- Stage received parts and coordinate installation based on vehicle priority and reconditioning needs.
- Direct and prioritize the daily workload of the Parts Assistant.
- Assist with minor parts installations when departmental responsibilities are current.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient parts storage area.
- Communicate parts statuses and vehicle delays clearly to technicians and management.
- Automotive parts, service, reconditioning, or related mechanical experience.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, part numbers, vehicle fitment, invoices, and Repair Orders.
- Ability to research and compare multiple parts suppliers.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple orders, deadlines, and vehicle priorities simultaneously.
- Strong computer and data-entry skills.
- Dealertrack or comparable dealership management system experience is preferred.
- Sound judgment when making purchasing decisions.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and take ownership of the department.
- Previous experience directing or coordinating another employee’s workload is preferred.
- Dependable, accountable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive environment.
- Ability to perform minor automotive parts installations is preferred.
The successful Parts Manager will maintain accurate inventory and Repair Orders, source parts responsibly, reduce unnecessary vehicle delays, resolve returns and credits promptly, and keep the parts department organized. At any given time, this person should be able to clearly explain what has been ordered, what is in transit, what has been received, what is awaiting installation, and which vehicles are delayed because of parts.
