Job Description

Chief of Staff

About Tinybird

Tinybird is the data platform that helps data engineering teams address complex real-time, operational, and user-facing analytics challenges at any scale. It simplifies the process of importing data from various sources, allowing you to use SQL for data manipulation—such as filtering, aggregating, and joining—and then publish the results as low-latency, high-concurrency RESTful API endpoints or as sinks into downstream systems.

About the Role

We’re looking for an exceptional Chief of Staff to work directly with the CEO and founding team.

This is not an operations coordinator or executive assistant role.

This role exists to tackle the company’s highest-leverage opportunities and toughest challenges. Whether it’s launching a new initiative, improving how teams operate, evaluating strategic options, strengthening a key business function, or executing a special project, you’ll be trusted to take ownership, create clarity, and get things done.

Your mission is simple: increase the leverage of the CEO and leadership team by taking ownership of the company’s most important problems.

If you thrive in fast-moving environments, love solving complex business challenges, and want a front-row seat to building a high-growth company, we’d love to meet you.

We are a remote-first company, but we strongly believe that some of the best ideas, relationships, and momentum are built in person. We love getting together regularly in our Madrid office to collaborate, solve problems, and enjoy building the company as a team.

For this reason, while the role offers flexibility, we strongly prefer candidates who are based in Madrid or willing to relocate.

What You'll Do
  • Own and execute critical cross-functional projects across the company.

  • Act as a force multiplier for the CEO and leadership team.

  • Drive strategic initiatives from concept through implementation.

  • Identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and ensure execution happens.

  • Lead special projects spanning operations, go-to-market, marketing, product, recruiting, finance, and fundraising.

  • Build processes and systems that help the company scale.

  • Coordinate stakeholders across teams and keep priorities moving forward.

  • Conduct research, analysis, and business planning to support key decisions.

  • Take responsibility for entire business outcomes—not just individual tasks.

Examples of projects might include:

  • Improving pipeline generation and GTM performance.

  • Designing operational processes for a growing team.

  • Supporting fundraising, investor relations, and strategic planning.

  • Evaluating new markets, partnerships, or expansion opportunities.

  • Leading company-wide initiatives that require coordination across multiple teams.

  • Act as Hiring manager for some required new functional leaders.

Who You Are
  • You are highly ambitious, extremely resourceful, and comfortable operating in ambiguity.

  • You don't wait for detailed instructions. When given a goal, you figure out what needs to happen and make it happen.

  • You combine strategic thinking with a strong bias toward execution.

Ideal Background

We are open to different profiles, but strong candidates often come from one of the following paths:

  • Former founder or startup operator.

  • Early employee at a high-growth startup.

  • Top-tier strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital.

  • Experience leading complex projects with significant responsibility early in your career.

What We're Looking For
  • +5 years of experience in high-performance environments.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Proven ability to independently lead projects and deliver results.

  • Strong business judgment and prioritization skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with strong skills in creating and developing relationships with C-level executives.

  • High ownership mentality and accountability.

  • Ability to operate effectively across multiple functions.

  • Comfortable with uncertainty, rapid change, and ambitious goals.

  • Strong cultural fit: low ego, highly collaborative, and deeply motivated by impact.

  • Fluent in English is a must

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) are essential to building an effective organization. Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every one of the qualifications in a job description. Our top priority is finding the best candidate for the job. If you are interested in the position, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t believe you meet every one of the qualifications listed in this posting.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year:

  • Leadership confidently delegates entire business problems to you.

  • Key strategic initiatives move faster and produce better outcomes.

  • Critical company priorities are executed without requiring constant oversight.

  • You become one of the most trusted operators in the organization.

  • Your impact can be seen in our KPIs.

Why Join Us?
  • Work directly with the CEO and founding team.

  • Unparalleled exposure to company-building at the highest level.

  • Broad responsibility and accelerated career growth.

  • Opportunity to shape the future of a fast-growing company.

  • A role designed for someone who wants to become a founder, executive, or company builder in the future.

If you're the kind of person who sees an important problem and immediately thinks "I'll figure it out," we'd love to talk.

* This role includes both salary and target bonus (OTE 82/18), and a stock options grant. You can find our typical starting salary ranges for this role listed above.
