We are committed to providing the support and partnership to help make that possible.

The Role
The Interventionist provides targeted academic and behavioral support for Graduation Candidates who need additional assistance to make progress toward course completion and graduation. This role delivers small-group and individual intervention in mathematics, literacy, and other priority academic areas, while also supporting students in developing the routines, self-management strategies, and consistent participation that make academic progress possible. The Interventionist works alongside academy instructional and support staff, using student performance, attendance, and engagement data to identify needs and adjust support.

This is a temporary, part-time position funded by the Title I grant for the 2026-27 academic year, September 2026 through June 2027, onsite at Santa Rosa Acceleration Academy. Continuation of this position beyond June 2027 is contingent on Title I grant funding.

  • Support students in developing routines, self-management strategies, and behaviors that promote successful participation in the academy program.
  • Use student performance, attendance, and engagement data to identify needs and adjust intervention support.
  • Collaborate with academy instructional and support staff to identify students in need and reinforce classroom and course-based learning goals.
  • Monitor and communicate student progress toward course completion with the Graduation Candidate support team.
  • Document intervention activities and student progress to support Title I program monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in data meetings, professional development, and academy events as scheduled.

Desired Attributes

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Successful completion of the District Instructional Screening Process
  • Experience providing academic intervention, tutoring, mentoring, or small-group instruction with adolescents or young adults
  • Experience providing behavioral or engagement support preferred
  • Experience working in non-traditional or at-risk youth settings preferred
  • Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies, restorative practices, or trauma-informed approaches preferred
  • Ability to interpret student data and adjust support accordingly
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students and remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Comfort with educational technology tools and platforms
