This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Assistant Faculty (Part-Time), Accounting based in the United States.
This part-time remote role supports undergraduate Accounting students in a dynamic online learning environment.
You will work closely with lead instructors to strengthen student engagement, learning, and academic success.
The position combines student communication, instructional support, grading, tutoring, and supplemental learning resources.
You will monitor learner activity and help identify effective ways to address challenges and improve participation.
The role is well suited to an accounting professional who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and working with diverse learning styles.
You will contribute to a collaborative academic team while using technology to facilitate accessible online learning.
The position is scheduled for 25 hours per week, beginning with the fall quarter on October 5.
- Analyze student participation in online discussions and assessments, and respond appropriately based on guidance from the lead instructor.
- Support ongoing student communications and escalate complex or unique concerns to the appropriate faculty member.
- Assist with grading and provide constructive, timely feedback to learners.
- Monitor engagement levels, identify students who may need additional support, and recommend strategies to improve participation.
- Provide tutoring, live learning sessions, student outreach, and other forms of academic support as directed.
- Help create supplemental instructional materials, including support documents, videos, job aids, and other resources.
- Collaborate effectively with faculty and other academic stakeholders while completing additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution, or a Master’s degree in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration or relevant coursework in Intermediate Accounting I and II.
- At least 5 years of professional accounting experience preferred, along with previous teaching experience; online teaching experience is an advantage.
- CPA certification, active or inactive, is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with faculty, learners, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent relationship-building, customer service, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail, initiative, follow-through, and the ability to work effectively with diverse learning styles.
- Comfortable using technology and digital tools to support online instruction and student engagement.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, communicate effectively across levels, and remain composed in challenging situations.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
- Ability to work effectively from a professional, distraction-free home office and regularly use a computer, telephone, and monitors.
- Part-time schedule: 25 hours per week in a fully remote/home-office environment.
- Starting pay: $19.00 per hour, with an overall expected hourly range of $18.25–$27.75, depending on qualifications, experience, location, business needs, and internal equity.
