This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving enterprise-wide Software Asset Management transformation.
You’ll lead complex, high-risk programs that optimize software spend, strengthen compliance, and reduce licensing risk.

This is an opportunity to shape SAM maturity, build scalable capabilities, and deliver measurable business value at enterprise scale.

Accountabilities
  • Lead high-impact, high-risk Software Asset Management programs, establishing governance, milestones, deliverables, and accountability across complex, cross-functional initiatives.

  • Identify operational gaps and recommend improvements to leadership using data, analytics, and business insights.
  • Mentor team members and provide strategic guidance that strengthens SAM capabilities, collaboration, and organizational maturity.
  • Champion continuous improvement by developing playbooks, templates, best practices, knowledge-sharing frameworks, and scalable processes.
  • Build relationships across technology and business functions, influence priorities without relying solely on formal authority, and resolve competing perspectives to maintain alignment.
  • Act as a change catalyst, encouraging adoption of new tools, processes, automation, and AI-enabled approaches across the organization.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience managing large-scale, cross-functional programs, with a strong focus on Software Asset Management.
  • 7+ years of demonstrated success delivering high-impact, multimillion-dollar programs while navigating complex challenges and exceeding stakeholder expectations.

  • Strong familiarity with major on-premises and cloud software vendors and platforms, including Oracle, Google Cloud, Azure, and AWS.
  • Proven experience managing software audits and maintaining audit readiness.
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to brief VP- and CTO-level stakeholders and turn complex data into compelling, decision-oriented stories.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strong teams, foster healthy debate, influence stakeholders, and rally diverse groups around new technology, tooling, and processes.
  • Technical understanding of core infrastructure and software development principles.
  • Strong cross-functional relationship-building skills across Vendor Management, Security, Engineering, Product Management, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, HR, and other business functions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications in SAM tools or frameworks, such as ITIL or IAITAM credentials including CSAM or FNMS certification, are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Wiz, configuration management, JAMF, Intune, or similar discovery and IT service management tools is preferred.
  • Experience implementing or managing cloud-based SAM processes across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is valuable.
