CSafe is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the growth of our passive manufacturing capability at the AMS facility. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class operations team in the growing pharmaceutical cold chain industry, helping deliver innovative temperature-management solutions that protect life-enhancing products for patients around the world. The company partners with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and life sciences organizations to transport high-value, temperature-sensitive biopharmaceutical products, including biologics and vaccines.

Job Purpose

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading manufacturing operations at our multi-product AMS site including distribution, refurbishment, kitting, and other passive-related manufacturing activities across multiple product lines and varying volumes. The leader will ensure timely production and refurbishments are completed in line with our regulatory and quality standards. This is a full-time role based at the site with onsite presence expected 5 days per week.

The key objectives of this role include management, training, and growth of local manufacturing operations teams, effective production planning and inventory control, maintaining a safe and organized working environment, and strong coordination between all internal teams to ensure we deliver products and services to our customers at a world class standard.

This role may also encompass oversight of 3rd party manufacture, or warehouse and distribution locations over time.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and grow a cohesive operations team, fostering a collaborative, harmonious work environment that supports consistent performance, employee retention, and operational excellence
  • Provide leadership to the local manufacturing operations teams across distribution, refurbishment, kitting, and other passive manufacturing activities.
  • Maintain compliance with current local standards, company policies and procedures.
  • Promote an understanding of quality and requirements among staff.
  • Ensure production capacity aligns with forecasted demand across multiple product lines and volumes, and workstations are properly staffed.
  • Develop training regimen to ensure all operations personnel are appropriately qualified to complete relevant.
  • Ensure adequate inspection aids, special tools and equipment are available and inspected/maintained in serviceable condition
  • Ensure all tools and test equipment are inspected and maintained in a serviceable and, when applicable, in a calibrated condition.
  • Manage preventative maintenance for all manufacturing, warehouse, and plant equipment, ensuring it is safe prior to use by the local operations teams.
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of all required inspection records, reports and forms.
  • Drive effective 6S procedures to ensure safe and organised working conditions, identifying hazards, setting appropriate safety policies, and ensuring behaviours align with company policies to prevent injuries.
  • Oversee manufacturing efficiencies and drive continuous improvement. Use LEAN manufacturing principles to identify projects that will improve efficiency and eliminate waste within manufacturing operations.
  • Work with Quality team on QA procedures and policies, ensuring the upkeep of our Quality and Environmental Management System ISO accreditations.
  • Own inventory control as a key focus area — working with Commercial and Supply Chain teams to establish target inventory levels for key products and raw materials, and ensuring effective inventory control systems and measures are in place.
  • Work with Logistics department to ensure all in-bound and out-bound shipments are handled safely and efficiently.
  • Shared responsibility for the general upkeep, presentation, and safety of the AMS site.
  • Ensure the company’s Health and Safety and Fire regulations are always adhered to.
  • Demonstrate awareness of and support of company goals through participation in continuous quality management and company activities.
  • Shared P&L responsibility to maintain targeted cost levels and drive saving initiatives.

    Functional Competencies

  • 10+ years’ operations management experience, with a demonstrated track record of leading, developing, and growing operational teams
  • LEAN manufacturing, inventory management, and production planning/forecasting experience in a multi-product manufacturing environment supporting varying volumes
  • Associate degree or equivalent on-the-job work experience
  • People management experience, including the ability to train, mentor, and inspire teams to achieve maximum performance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and with industry standard component control and tracking programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively and present analytical business reports across all levels of an organization
  • Solution oriented with an ability to take initiative, creating, implementing and improving policies and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task and demonstrate inspiring leadership in a fast-paced environment
  • Six Sigma or Lean qualification
  • Experience managing a multisite organization
  • Project management experience
