Senior Fullstack Engineer in Canada Creek, Nova Scotia at Jobgether

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer based in Canada.

This is a ground-floor opportunity to join an early engineering team building AI-native financial planning and analysis software. You will work closely with technical leadership to shape the product roadmap and turn complex requirements into impactful features. The role offers broad ownership across the full technology stack, from frontend experiences to backend services and data infrastructure. You will contribute to scalable, reliable, and well-tested software while helping establish engineering practices for a growing team. Your work will directly influence the product experience and the finance teams using it every day. This is an ideal environment for an experienced fullstack engineer who enjoys autonomy, technical ownership, and solving ambiguous problems in a distributed team.

• Partner with technical leadership and engineering teammates to prioritize and execute the product roadmap.
• Design, develop, test, and own complex software features and components from concept through delivery.
• Build robust, scalable, and maintainable applications across the full technology stack.
• Develop high-quality frontend experiences using modern web technologies and contribute to backend services and APIs.
• Help define and establish engineering standards, development practices, testing approaches, and processes that support a high-performing team.
• Collaborate closely with Design and Operations teams to continuously improve the product and user experience.
• Take ownership of ambiguous technical challenges and drive solutions independently while keeping stakeholders aligned.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 1 year contributing to system design or software architecture.
• Strong fullstack development experience with TypeScript and JavaScript on the frontend and Node.js on the backend.
• Strong experience building production-grade applications with React; candidates with balanced fullstack or frontend-focused backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Practical experience working with MongoDB as an application database.
• Experience using BigQuery for analytics and querying large datasets.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to independently navigate ambiguity, make sound technical decisions, and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with senior technical leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable working remotely within the Americas and collaborating effectively in a distributed environment.
• Interest or experience in AI-focused product engineering is a plus.
